Endometriosis: On the Public Health Policy Agenda
In my capacity as Coordinator of the EndoMedicare Academy Center of Excellence in Complex Endometriosis Surgery, President of the Romanian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and President of the East-European Society of Endometriosis and Infertility, I was invited to the Romanian Senate to participate in the conference: “Endometriosis: On the Public Health Policy Agenda. The Urgent Need for Early Diagnosis, Accessible Treatment, and an Adequate Legislative Framework.”
During the debate, I emphasized the necessity of recognizing endometriosis as a genuine public health priority. I highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, the development of specialized treatment centers, and ensuring patient access to modern, multidisciplinary, and standardized care.
The experience gained in the surgical treatment of complex endometriosis cases, alongside the ongoing activity within the EndoMedicare Academy, provided weight and relevance to the perspectives shared—aiming to contribute to the development of health policies that concretely address the needs of patients in Romania.
Dialogue between specialists, authorities, and patient organizations is essential to transforming these objectives into real-world solutions for women affected by endometriosis.
My sincere thanks to Senators Ana Cynthia Paun and Ruxandra Cibu Deaconu for this initiative!
